Southeast Davidson communities unite to keep Crime out! An effort is underway to bring together every faith-based community, every agency, every government department, every police station, every school, every home association, every neighborhood watch, and every store that services young people in our area for our upcoming National Night Out Celebration. The March will begin between the library and Ezell Harding School and will culminate at Hickory Hollow Mall. Please mark your calendar to participate. Our Metro High Schools Bands will lead the March! Keep checking the blog. More details to come!
FEDUP: Stop the Violence – Stop the Silence
City-wide Initiative Against Teen Violence
Location:
Nashville, Tennessee – City-wide Night Out Against Crime
Antioch/Priest Lake/UNA/Cane Ridge Neighborhood Unity March to culminate at Hickory Hollow Mall
Date/Time:
Tuesday, August 5, 2008 (March begins 6:00 pm, programming to follow)
The goal of the FEDUP initiative is to continue and strengthen community-wide collaboration to identify the underlying causes of teen violence and delinquency in the Nashville metro area. Through collaborative efforts we strive to develop and/or partner with existing agencies and program initiatives that are designed to address these disparities. We understand that the manifestation of violence and delinquency amongst our youth population has its underlying causes in several factors, such as: Faithlessness, Educational impotence, Disempowered youth, lack of Unity in community and Parental isolation in dealing with family conflict.
This initiative seeks to address and combat these issues by offering Faithful responses to issues that plague our community. We seek to partner with Educational systems to improve the learning outcomes of our children and youth. We seek remove the barriers that Disempower our youth and encourage them to speak out and fight for their own cause. We are committed to Unify the community in this effort and openly support Parents who are impacted by this cause.
The vision for this event is to partner with the Nashville Night Out Against Crime to present a city-wide response to the issues associated with teen violence. Our hope is to create a web of collaborative activity across the metro area on the same day and time culminating in a FEDUP Response at the Hickory Hollow Mall. Our hope is to have every faith-based community, every agency, every government department, every police station, every school, every home association, every neighborhood watch, and every store that services young people to participate in establishing that we are FEDUP and to present on that day (and beyond) between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00 pm a positive presentation for change against violence
