Summer 2008 District Wide Cleanup A Huge Success!

The District 28 and District 33 Summer 2008 Cleanup which included School Board District 6 was a huge success. Commissioners Bill Covington and Debbie Herrington and Councilman of District 28 Duane Dominy and Councilman of District 33 Robert Duvall have received the below emails and the feedback has been great!

Some emails received:

"Whoever is the sweetheart that painted over the 'tags' out at the back gate of our subdivision is most appreciated. It was so good to come home on Saturday and see that mess was all cleaned up. "

"JASON WONDROW took care of the matter. YEAH JASON!!"

K-mart's employees graciously came out at the request of Manager Laura Sowell to help with the heavy tagging on Edge O Lake in front of their garden center and across from Urban Fitness. The before and after pictures are below. Thanks to all the volunteers who helped with this graffiti clean up and paint out as well the entire summer cleanup. We cleaned up and cleaned out in a big way.

Afterwards, volunteers cooled off inside of K-mart and were treated complimentary to pizza and drinks.

Councilman Dominy and Duvall reported that "one Public Works official said this was "one of the biggest clean-up events in the city." Thanks to all that came out to help and make a difference in our community. Thanks to Beautification Commissioners, Bill Covington and Debbie Harrington and all the people that helped make this a HUGE success."
