These neighbors say they've had little notice of Metro plans. But I first wrote about golf course being for sale & city interest in October.

Metro could buy another golf course for open space

Metro government is having the approximately 140-acre Nashboro Village golf course appraised for a possible purchase so the city can preserve the land as green, open space.
Jim Fyke, a Metro Finance official who is involved in the city’s open space acquisition efforts, said the city has not entered any “real negotiations” yet for the Nashboro Golf Club property, which is for sale by Textron Financial Corp. through its Great Oaks Golf subsidiary.
“After it’s appraised, we’ll talk seriously with the owner if we’re still interested,” Fyke said.
He noted that the southeast part of Davidson County is one of the focal points of the open space plan Mayor Karl Dean and The Land Trust for Tennessee unveiled six months ago. The plan calls for preserving 22,000 acres over the next 25 years.
Metro’s parks board will vote next week on acquiring the 181-acre Ravenwood Golf Club in Hermitage – a possibility The Tennessean first reported in June. The Metro Council would have the final say on the purchase.
