Reminder: Metro Public Works will host an informal public meeting on Tuesday, January 29th, 5:30 p.m. - 7 p.m., Edmondson Pike Library to gather citizen input regarding proposed improvements at intersections throughout Davidson County determined to be high-crash locations.
A total of 27 intersections have been identified in MPW’s “Top Intersection Improvement Project” and will be presented, along with proposed enhancements, for public input and comments. The Top Intersection Project is intended to design and construct specific improvements to increase safety for both pedestrians and motorists. Since 2006, MPW has been working to analyze and address high crash locations, and has already completed upgrades at intersections where immediate improvements were recommended. Examples of enhancements proposed for the remaining intersections include rebuilding or updating existing traffic signals; updating or adding pedestrian facilities; installing turn lanes; and applying new pavement markings and additional warning signs. At the upcoming input meeting, the public will be able to view the project map and descriptions of the proposed enhancements at each intersection, and to make comments and ask questions.
